museum without walls audio (mww)
Just north of the Philadelphia Art Museum, 35 outdoor sculptures line the Schuylkill River. However, their stories and histories are mostly unknown to passers-by. To bring these stories to viewers, The Association for Public Art conceived the Museum Without Walls: Audio, an interactive program that uses three-minute interpretive audio segments to give listeners a deeper view of what’s before them as they walk up the river. Each segment is narrated by one of 100 authentic voices, each with a personal connection to the artwork. The result is a museum that lives.
aPA engaged AAJdesign to create a bold and flexible brand identity for the MWW that would work across platforms and draw people to this innovative program. The resulting logo hints at audio waves against a green street sign.
